All reports from fitness staff at Team WoW HQ are positive, as the boys prepare for a tilt at the 2012 Term 3 title. With only 10 days remaining until the beginning of the season, chief futsal analyst and Team WoW fitness coach Peter Thompson says his team could not be in better shape. "Sure, they are in tip top condition", he told the media yesterday, "...we're very confident that they will give each game their absolute best effort".
There were worrying signs last month when Phil Gale tore his hamstring during a match for Taroona FC. Gale missed the rest of the season with the injury, but has since made a full recovery according to manager Jonathon Bryan. "We're very happy with Phil's progress. He's back to 100%, and he'll definitely start the first game, no question". The Team WoW star was initially very concerned after tearing his hamstring, having never been injured in a match before, but his confidence is back for the futsal season.
As well as Gale, Andy Thompson (hamstring) and Rob Schaap (knee/ hamstring) had fans worried. Both players had similar issues, with injuriues throughout the Taroona season, but both find themselves in great condition coming into futsal.
See Team WoW in action on the 7th of October at Aurora Stadium. Time and opponent to be confirmed.
